History

Founded over 16 years ago by Joachim Hädicke, Getron Lichttechnolgie GmbH has established itself on the German an International market in a remarkably quick time. After many years in the lighting business, Joachim Hädicke, came to the conclusion that the experience he had gained, could be used to offer the lighting  trade a good quality light fitting for an affordable price.

The initial team was recruited from  friends and colleagues who shared the same ideals, premises were rented, and Getron was established. The company was registered under the name Getec GmbH, but this was later  changed to Getron Lichttechnologie GmbH, to  avoid confusion with other companies with similar names.

The first two years were hard, work continuing late into the night, every night. However, this commitment gradually paid off, and the company philosophy of going the extra mile for the customer, brought success. In 1995, new purpose built premises were acquired, and the company moved to its present address. Success brings success, and more manufacturing space has been added over the years.

Getron is one of the few companies in Germany, which retains the bulk of the manufacturing process in its own hands. Work is not sub-contracted to low wage countries outside of Europe, but is carried out in our own premises, or by proven and tested suppliers. Only this way, can we guarantee prompt deliveries of a reliable product, and state that the product is of pure German origin.

Getron is proud to sell light fittings with the Getron label, and is also proud to manufacture light fittings for long established companies, under their own label. Several well known European manufacturers have recognised Getron´s expertise, and have a part of their production built by Getron. The initial pioneer spirit still exists by Getron, and our design and construction departments based at the Getron Lichttechnologie Technical Centre, have not rested upon their laurels. Quick thinking, coupled to flexibility, enable Getron to realise a new conception on a time scale that leaves larger, less flexible companies, breathless. To date, the total Getron production is split between  40% Getron, and 60 %  “other labels”.

Over the years, Getron Lichttechnologie GmbH, has continued to grow, and has branched out into other fields associated with lighting. The Getron subsidiary Licht Lager, offers a big range of light fittings from other manufacturers at a competitive price, and Front Glass is capable of transforming many an idea into glass. Not quite lighting, but still very exciting, is Frontgas which has developed, and now market, one of the most efficient LPG gas conversion kits in Germany for cars.
